Puerto Rico ⎮ Isabela, Puerto Rico ⎮ Playa Poza Sardineras
Punta Sardinas is conveniently located at the bottom of the town of Isabela right across from kiosks where seniors know they’ll get good and cheap empanadillas and their favorite drinks at true local prices. This area is also known as Villa Pesquera, where local fishermen tend to come in with their boats and congregate. The beach begins at Punta Sardinera, including the gorgeous Posita Sardinera, and continues in the shape of a crescent leading up to more stunning beaches along the Isabela coastline.
Sardinera Beach is not safe for swimming, due to strong currents. Locals warn that even throughout the summer months when the water seems calmer, Sardinera Bech is still not safe for swimming. The beauty of Sardineras certainly makes this beach worth visiting for those that love long walks on the beach and few crowds. Our family likes this beach because is typically less crowded than the Jobos beach area.
Facilities at Punta Sardineras
Across the street is Villa Pesquera with various local kiosks offering traditional Puerto Rican food at affordable prices and you’ll find a few spots to park. This is a local beach, meaning there are no lifeguards or bathroom facilities.
Getting to Punta Sardineras
Beach is located on PR-466, which will take you straight into Villa Pesquera, you will then turn onto Carr Municipal which runs parallel to the beach where you can find parking.
