There are ferries for residents and visitors located in the town of Ceiba on the east coast of Puerto Rico offering travel to the offshore islands of  Vieques and Culebra.

From Santo Domingo, the capital city of the Dominican Republic there is a ferry traveling to the municipality of Mayaguez (on the west coast of Puerto Rico).

Puerto Rico has a very quiet side, the offshore islands of Vieques & Culebra.  To get there you have the option of taking the ferry from Fajardo or a short flight from the airports of San Juan, Isla Grande, or Ceiba.

• Getting to Vieques  – Isla de Vieques is on the east coast of Puerto Rico.  Getting to Vieques is hassle-free and no passport is required for US Citizens.  Fly to the San Juan Airport, then take a short flight or ferry ride to Vieques.
• Getting to Culebra – Culebra is also on the east coast of Puerto Rico.  Fly to San Juan Airport and take a short flight to Culebra or ferry ride from Ceiba.
